New room available: Rustic and Romantic Living Room Decor in Textured Neutrals

birdcage mobile bulb covers concrete decor florals handcrafted lamp living room decor new decor repurposed items romantic decor rustic decor

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about a mobile I was working on that was created using wire bulb covers. It's now available in my shop in a brand new living room collection that also includes original photographic art and a lamp that was created with a very cool spray paint product I found: Rust-oleum American Accents Stone Textured Finish.  I have never been very good with spray paint, but this product was easy to use and performed exactly as advertised. And it turned an ordinary wine bottle into a gorgeous "stone" lamp.BTW, the concrete pillar plate that forms the base of the lamp and provides the perfect finishing touch was purchased from rough fusion on Etsy . This shop has a lot of really cool concrete accessories.

Anyway...please check out the complete new room collection at I really like how it turned out, and I hope others will, too!

Shopping for items to re-purpose (or purpose) as home decor

repurposed items shopping hints thrift shops

It's probably no surprise that the local Goodwill store is a wonderful resource for other people's trash that can be turned into treasures. Items that I have found there, and at another local thrift shop that supports social services, Savers, have been transformed into clocks, lamps, and birdhouses.
